Seasoned industry veterans, as well as newcomers, are often confused and perplexed by drug testing laws. Making sense of ever-changing and varied laws can often leave you feeling tired, confused, and frustrated. Using understandable terms and analogies, this session will provide attendees with a firm understanding of how to read and interpret substance abuse laws to effectively apply them in the workplace.

  1. Making sense of law types—how can a law be voluntary?
  2. Industry cheat sheet—10 questions or less to figure out any drug testing law.
  3. Pop quiz—apply the industry cheat sheet to a mandatory law.
  4. Midterm—apply the industry cheat sheet to a workers’ compensation law.
  5. Final exam—apply the industry cheat sheet to a voluntary law.
