Many employers find it difficult to explainin why DOT drug and alcohol testing is required and how it is accomplished. This course is designed to assist employers in providing information and education to employees. The student will learn how to communicate the regulations to employees in an easy to understand format. It allows the components of DOT drug and alcohol testing to easily understand what is expected of them when testing is required. It outlines the responsibility of an employee and the role they play in ensuring public safety while performing safety-sensitive functions. Some of the material explored in the course covers who is involved in the process, what happens to them in the event of a positive or refusal, what actions constitute a refusal to test, where they can go if they need help. This course should take approximately one hour.
