CP-TC (Collection Personnel Training Course

The SAPAA Training Institute's certification program for collectors sets the standard for the Industry. It's all web-based except for the proficiency collections which you may have performed at your site. It is your responsibility to locate a qualified person to administer the proficiency collections. After completing the proficiency collections you may wish to be listed in SAPAA's online Collection Personnel directory. Note:

To be permitted to act as a SAP in the DOT drug and alcohol testing program, you must meet each of the requirements of this section:
(a) Credentials. You must have one of the following credentials:
(1) You are a licensed physician (Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy);
(2) You are a licensed or certified social worker;
(3) You are a licensed or certified psychologist;
(4) You are a licensed or certified employee assistance professional;
(5) You are a state-licensed or certified marriage and family therapist; or
(6) You are a drug and alcohol counselor certified by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors Certification Commission (NAADAC); or by the International Certification Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (ICRC); or by the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. and Affiliates/Master Addictions Counselor (NBCC).

Supervisor Reasonable Suspicion Testing training for DOT and DFWP is available through SAPAA and Superior Training Solutions (STS). The DOT Supervisor courses are modal specific, two hours in length, and print a Certificate of Completion. Each license comes with a FREE 80-page Supervisor support manual on CD - sent via mail. MRO Assistant Training and EXAM

The SAPAA MRO Assistant Course is designed to properly train the support staff of a Medical Review Officer office. Training will focus on the key industry knowledge areas that will include the history, industry terms and definitions, the collection process, laboratory analysis and alternative specimen, medical review officer responsibilities, and troubleshooting problems throughout the drug testing process. After completion of the course, the student will be prepared and eligible to take the MRO Assistant certification exam through the Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC)
DAITC (Drug and Alcohol Industry Training Course)

Absolutely the only course to hone your knowledge and skills on all drug and alcohol testing issues. Course material includes DOT, DOL, NASA. NRC and other regulations as well as non- regulated programs. This is THE course for those who either want to expan their knowledge or want to review before they sit for the coveted C-SAPA exam. Covers 2 1/2 days. This course is not for beginners!
Collection Personnel Training Course for Instructors

The course curriculum trains collectors in the proper US DOT procedures for teaching urine specimen collections and monitoring proficiency demonstrations as well as important non-regulated implications. Roles and Responsibilities - The Basics

What Employees Need to Know About DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing

Live Training - approx. 2 hours Internet Training - approx. 1 hour. Not sure about how to explain drug and alcohol testing to your employees? This course is designed to inform and educate employees about the DOT drug and alcohol testing process, and to offer a guide for employees to understand why they are subject to testing and how the testing is accomplished.

BAT/STT Refresher Course

(classroom)

This course complies with all refresher instruction needed to keep you certification for both breath and saliva alcohol testing, including trouble alcohol testing situations as well as any new DOT requirements. A certificate of completion is issued to each student who successfully completes the refresher course. This is not for non-certified BATs or STTs!
Meetings and ConferencesThe purpose of SAPAA's annual and regional meetings is to provide education to members on the latest information, resources and technologies available in our industry. SAPAA hosts three meetings each year, including one annual meeting and two smaller regional meetings.
