Patricia "Pat” Pizzo, DABFE
Since 1980, Pat Pizzo has served as a senior technical manager and vice president of operations at Alere Toxicology and is currently the Director of Toxicology. Before coming to Alere, she worked as a chemist in the Toxicology Lab for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC. Having been in the industry for over 42 years, Ms. Pizzo is an active member of, advisor to, and participant in many technical and professional organizations of forensic toxicology. She is a former member of the Federal Drug Testing Advisor Board and in that capacity advised SAMHSA on drug policies. As an inspector for the National Laboratory certification Program and the College of American Pathologist Forensic Urine Drug Testing Program she is often called on to perform laboratory inspections. She also serves as a consultant for many national companies. Ms. Pizzo is a Board Certified Forensic Examiner and has been certified as an expert witness in Federal and State courts and has testified throughout the country. She has been a guest speaker on many radio talk shows and featured in newspapers and magazines. She has authored and co-authored several articles that have appeared in the United States and abroad. Many of the policies in effect today utilized by others have been a direct result from her expertise in this field.
